Dear Friends, Trauma is inevitable when living in a fallen, broken world. That has been true since Adam and Eve took their first steps out of Eden. No one, ever, has been able to escape the reality of being harmed and suffering the somatic, relational, and spiritual dimensions of trauma, even Jesus. No one, ever, has been able to escape harming others related to the harm we have endured, except Jesus.
Addressing trauma is a complex process, but at its core, it is a spiritual war that is not for the few but for us all. To do that work, we need to consider the harm from developmental and event traumas and weave these realities into the scope of spiritual warfare. I find it to be true that trauma is often addressed from a biological and relational worldview with significant wisdom. Still, the spiritual dimensions related to the core values of faith, hope, and love are often ignored.
This course is designed to engage the effect trauma has on the brain, the body, and relationships, including our engagement with God. We can’t change what we fail to name. This course aims to engage the harm so we can honestly walk the route of redemption for ourselves and those we love.
The more we understand our trauma, the keener our sense of how to engage the heartache and harm of others. This course is intensely personal and offers a framework for therapists, pastors, caregivers, and everyone who wants to see redemption for others. We must know what is at issue and how to walk the healing path.
I am deeply grateful you are taking the time and effort to walk into these matters for yourself and others. It takes courage to name what is true and even more profound courage to hope that change is possible. It is an honor to serve you through this material, and I look forward to the day we can interact face-to-face. To that end, let me pray for you.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we bless and love you.
We trust you until we don’t. You know our heart, the scope of our harm, and all the factors that keep us from trusting you more. I am grateful that you have set eternity into our hearts and a hunger to know and be known by you. I ask on behalf of each person who takes this course that you will meet them in a profoundly personal and practical way. May you draw our hearts to you and receive us with your commendation and encouragement. We pray this all in the name of Jesus. Amen.
May your heart receive all God desires for you through this time together.
Warmly,
Dan Allender
